For those unfamiliar with this photography technique it consists of taking a sequence of frames at set intervals to record changes that take place slowly over time. When the frames are shown at normal speed, or in quick succession, the action seems much faster.

While these apps might not match to results of an professional DSLR camera, the portability of the any Android phone (and it’s camera) is an advantage, you can easely take it with you just about anywhere.

In fact there is a build in Timelapse function in the default Camera app. However these are much better than that. I personally prefer Lapse It!

There is an app that does both time-lapse and slow motion video recording on your Android device. It is called Controlled Capture. Both slow motion and time-lapse movies made from this app can be shared with others via email, google+, facebook, etc. It has many features not list in the above apps. More information is here:
